Who can be a Fellow?

“iMedia Project” is for you, if:
  • you’re the author of the idea of new information project with social and political or business subjects. To keep it on track you need to improve skills in multimedia journalism.
  • your media outlet being an active pioneer of multimedia technology would like to launch a new information project. You need to have practical advice from foreign media-manager and brand technologist
  • Your media outlet is interested in making a proper redesign of a current online resource (website or digital application) that enable it to develop as an independent media business and attract new readers and advertisers
We invite to take part in competition:
  • Journalists and editors of Republican and regional mass media outlets
  • Representatives of independent journalist groups
  • Students of senior year of bachelor or master program in a faculty of journalism
  • Professionals with an experience of creation and promotion their own multimedia project
Applicant requirements:
  • experience to work with multimedia project - highly important
  • fluency in English - preferable, but it will not be a decisive factor in case of a grant awarding. If necessary Russian/English/Kazakh translation will be provided.

  1. A completed application form (to download here)
  2. Min two published articles or 2 aired video reports with analytical content. Applicants will provide links for their materials or attach published articles in Word format.
  3. Two letters of recommendation from employee or colleague who are able to estimate impartially a work experience of an applicant
  4. Copy of a University diploma (preferably from faculty of journalism). In other cases a work experience in mass media will be considered. Students of senior year of bachelor and master courses need to provide a reference from a University
  5. ID copy
  6. Winners of competition will have to provide an official consent of a chief-in-editor/director to study in “iMedia Project” during 4 weeks starting from February 2017 till December 2017.
Winners will be determined in two stages procedure
  • I stage review of competition applications
  • II stage personal interview with jury members (for applicants from Kazakhstan regions interview will be arranged by Skype)
